Matthew 10:25
25It is enough for the disciple to be like his teacher, and the servant like his master. aIf they have called the master of the house Beelzebul, how much more will they malign ▼▼Greek lacks will they malign
those of his household. Matthew 16:13-16
Peter Confesses Jesus as the Christ
13 cNow when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” 14And they said, “Some say dJohn the Baptist, others say eElijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” 15He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” 16Simon Peter replied, f“You are gthe Christ, hthe Son of ithe living God.”Matthew 21:46
46And jalthough they were seeking to arrest him, kthey feared the crowds, because they held him to be la prophet.Luke 7:16
16Fear seized them all, and mthey glorified God, saying, n“A great prophet has arisen among us!” and o“God has visited his people!”John 6:14
14When the people saw the sign that he had done, they said, p“This is indeed qthe Prophet rwho is to come into the world!”John 7:25-27
Can This Be the Christ?
25Some of the people of Jerusalem therefore said, “Is not this the man whom sthey seek to kill? 26And here he is, tspeaking openly, and they say nothing to him! Can it be that uthe authorities really know that this is the Christ? 27But vwe know wwhere this man comes from, and when the Christ appears, xno one will know where he comes from.”John 7:40-43
Division Among the People
40When they heard these words, ysome of the people said, “This really is zthe Prophet.” 41Others said, “This is aathe Christ.” But some said, ab“Is the Christ to come from Galilee? 42Has not the Scripture said that the Christ comes acfrom the offspring of David, and comes adfrom Bethlehem, the village aewhere David was?” 43So there was afa division among the people over him.John 9:16
16Some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not agfrom God, ahfor he does not keep the Sabbath.” But others said, ai“How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?” And ajthere was a division among them.John 10:19-21
19 akThere was again a division among the Jews because of these words. 20Many of them said, al“He has a demon, and amis insane; why listen to him?” 21Others said, “These are not the words of one who is oppressed by a demon. anCan a demon open the eyes of the blind?”
